Local electric cooperatives chose nearly 100 students to enjoy a hybrid approach to youth leadership events. Youth Tour winners joined 50 other high school juniors from co-ops across the state to hear motivational speakers, meet with congressional representatives and learn what it means to be an actively involved citizen.

Close to 40 eighth graders were also selected to participate in this year’s YouthPower Energy Camp. The camp is designed to help cooperative youth develop leadership skills and learn about one of rural America’s most important accomplishments—rural electrification. Campers experienced electricity in a new light!
